The official trailer for Bittersweet (known in Japan as Nigakute Amai), a live-action film based on Yumio Kobayashi's manga about a busy office lady and her gay roommate growing closer through the power of cooking, is now available online.
In Bittersweet, Haruna Kawaguchi plays Maki Eda, an office lady whose life outside of work is sloppy and disorganized. Eventually Maki moves in with Nagisa Katayama (played by Kento Hayashi), a gay man who teaches her the joys of vegetarian cuisine.
Bittersweet is directed by Shogo Kusano and also stars Yasushi Fuchikami and Hiyori Sakurada. The film opens in theaters in Japan on September 10, 2016.
