No fooling. It's one week until the April 1st season 2 return of the Attack on Titan anime.  A new preview was published today, and with The Beast, Gluttonous, and more, it certainly delivers on the hordes of man-eating tians.

"Princess Principal" Original TV Anime's Cast, Staff And Visuals Revealed

A new anime has been annoounced by Bandau Visual in Princess Principal and is slated to air this Summer in Japan. The original series will be jointy produced by studio 3hz with Actas while the staff will consist of Masaki Tachibana handling director duties, scriptwriting duties wil be handled by Ichiro Okouchi, character design by Kouhaku Kuroboshi, animation direction will be handled by Yukie Akiya with Kimitake Nishio, Fumihiro Katagai will handle mechanical design and music composition will be handled by Yuki Kajiura. Synopsis

This action and espionage series revolves around five girls in nineteenth-century London, in a city of the Albion Kingdom that is divided into east and west by a giant wall. The girls work as undercover spies enrolled as students at the prestigious Queen Mayfair School. There they use their individual skills to stay active in a dark world of disguises, espionage, infiltrations and car chases.

The second and final chunk of Dark Souls III content is coming on March 28. The Ringed City explores another new area loaded with fresh challenges, and you can see some of it in the pre-release launch trailer below.

Quiz Kids Take Up The Challenge In "Nanamaru Sanbatsu" Teaser Trailer

 

A new teaser trailer is now available online for Nanamaru Sanbatsu (aka 7O3X), an upcoming TV anime based on the manga by Iqura Sugimoto about the intrepid members of a high school quiz club. The trailer introduces the main characters and premise of the series, which revolves around quiz competitions where players have to answer 7 questions correctly without getting 3 wrong answers first.

 

 

The original Nanamaru Sanbatsu manga is serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace seinen manga magazine. The Nanamaru Sanbatsu TV anime is directed by Masaki Ōzora and features animation by TMS Entertainment. The story follows Shiki Koshiyama, a shy and bookish freshman who gets caught up in the fiercely competitive world of quiz contests.


Nanamaru Sanbatsu will broadcast on Nippon TV and other networks beginning in July of 2017. The series will run for 12 episodes total.

Be Nasu no Yoichi's Big Brother With "Drifters" Hug Pillow

The exploits of 12th century samurai Nasu no Yoichi were immortalized with the 14th epic Heike Monogatari. The bit where he shoots an arrow out of a lady's hand from across a span of water is a particularly famously Japanese table. Now, thanks to his appearance in anime/manga Drifters, he's being immortalized on a hug pillow with what's described as a drunken side and a chain bondage side.

Movic is offering the item for 10,800yen with tax, planned to ship in June.

 

 

 

Speaking of the boys, there's also a spoof host-club street team promo tissue packet, prepared for the next weekend cast event at Disney's Maihama Amphitheater.

 

 

And, speaking of the series, North American publisher Dark Horse has scheduled an August 9th release for their next collection of the manga.

"Kannagi" Manga Teases Conclusion

Eri Takenashi's Kannagi is teasing some conclusive moves for the 2006 supernatural comedy/drama over the three more chapters in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex. 

 

Volume 11 of the series about a goddess who awakens from a statue carved from wood of a sacred tree, was released in July 2016. It went on hiatus between 2008 and 2011 after Takenashi suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

 

The 2008 anime adaptation and three volumes of the manga were released in North America by Bandai.

Morning Glories (and Lilies) Bloom in "Asagao to Kase-san" Web-Anime

Previously teased with a poster at the Yuriten 2017 event, it's now official: Hiromi Takashima's yuri manga Kase-san and... will be adapted into a short-form web anime entitled Asagao to Kase-san ("Kase-san and Morning Glories") which wll be released to Youtube later this year.

 

 

The web anime will be approximately 5 minutes in length, and a preview version of it will be screened at the AnimeJapan 2017 conference, which will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight venue in Koto Ward, Tokyo, Japan from March 23 - 26, 2017.

Robots Run Rampant In "Atom the Beginning" Preview Video

 

A new trailer is now available online for Atom the Beginning, an upcoming TV anime based on the prequel manga that tells the story of the events leading up to the creation of the titular character of Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy. The trailer features the opening theme for the series, "Kaidoku Funō" ("Indecipherable"), which is performed by After the Rain.

 

 

Set in the near future some five years after a mysterious calamity has devastated Japan, Atom the Beginning tells the story of Umataro Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu (the creators of Astro Boy) as they work as research students at Nerima University studying robotics engineering. Together they develop a prototype robot called A106 that is designed with autonomous learning functions.

 

 

The Atom the Beginning TV anime is directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro and Tatsuo Satō and features animation by OLM, Inc., Production I.G, and Signal.MD. The series begins broadcasting on the NHK network beginning on April 15, 2017, and it will also be digitally distributed in Japan by Amazon Prime.

Lantis and Others Launch "ANiUTa" Music Streaming Service in Japan

On March 24, 2017, several Japanese anime music record companies (including Lantis Co., Ltd. and FlyingDog, Inc.) joined forces to create a new company named ANiUTa, Inc. with the goal of providing a subscription-based digital distribution service dedicated to anime, game, tokusatsu, and Vocaloid music.

 

 

The ANiUTa service is currently available in Japan for Android and iOS smart phones for a fee of 600 yen ($5.40 US) per month. Subscribing to the service grants the users access to more than 50,000 music tracks and the ability to search for music by anime title. ANiUTa also plans to offer exclusive content, such as pre-release music streaming, collaborations with voice actors, concert ticket applications, and merchandise.

 

 

ANiUTa, Inc. is based in Tokyo, and Shiro Sasaki (CEO of Flying Dog, Inc.) serves as the company's chief execturive officer. Although at launch the ANiUTa music streaming service is only available in Japan, ANiUTa plans to expand to include foreign markets within the year.

Funimation Announces Returning Cast For "Code Geass: Akito The Exiled"

Joining its host of new characters, Code Geass: Akito The Exiled will have some returning favorites from the now 11-year-old Sunrise anime. 2nd Teaser Visual, Story Setting for "Godzilla: Monster Planet" Anime Film Revealed

The official website for Polygon Pictures' upcoming anime feature film inspired by Toho's long-running Godzilla franchise today released a second teaser visual introducing the protagonist Haruo. It also confirmed that the film's official title is Godzilla: Kaiju Wakusei (Monster Planet) and it will be released theatrically in Japan in November 2017. Netflix has already announced the acquisition of world-wide distribution rights to the film.

 

According to the revealed story introduction, the film is set 20,000 years future, when the planet earth is dominated by Godzilla and unknown monsters. The tagline on the visual is written as, "I will definitely take this earth/planet back."

 

 

 

 

 

 

Story Introduction:


The last summer of the 20th century. On that day, the human race realized that they were not the only

ruler of the planet earth.

 

The emergence of gigantic monsters "kaiju" and the ultimate existence that even can destroy the kaijus,

Godzilla. After half-century of the war against the kaijus, the human race repeatedly defeated and decided

to escape from the earth. Then finally in the year 2048, only people who were chosen by the artificial

intelligence under the control of the central government went on board the interstellar immigrant ship

Aratrum and left for the "Cetus: Planet Tau e" which was 11.9 light years away from the earth. But

the environmental condition difference between the earth and Tau e, which took 20 years to reach, was

far exceeded the predicted value, and there was no way to survive for the human race.

 

A young man named Haruo is on board of the immigrant ship. His parents were killed by Godzilla right

front of him when he was 4, since then, he has been thinking about only going back to the earth and

killing Godzilla for 20 years. Since there is no hope for immigration to other planets, the "Return to the

Earth" group including Haruo becomes the mainstream in the ship as its living condition is getting worse,

then they decide to try the long distance hyperspace navigation.

 

However, 20,000 years have already passed when they finally arrive the earth, and it becomes a totally

unknown world dominated by an ecosystem topped by Godzilla. Can the human race take the earth back,

and the fate of Haruo will be...?

Madhouse's Original Anime Film "Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai" Set for August 2017

The official website for Madhouse (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time)'s upcoming original anime film Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai (I Want to Deliver Your Voice) announced today that it will be released in Japan in August 2017 and posted a teaser poster visual.

 

Naoyuki Ito, best known for his directorial works for DokiDoki! PreCure the Movie: Mana's Getting Married!!? The Dress of Hope Tied to the Future!, which was the most successful non-All Stars film in the PreCure franchise, and the recent anime adaptation of Kugane Maruyama's Overlord light novel series, is attached to direct on a screenplay by Manabu Ishiawa (Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~).  

 

As the title suggests, the theme of the film is "voice." The story focuses on high school girl Nagisa Yukiai who lives in a seaside town. She has believed her grandmother's story that spirits dwell in words and they are called "kotodama" (word spirit). One day, she strays into a mini FM station that has not been

used for years. As an impulse of the moment, she tries to talk like a DJ using the facility. But her voice

accidentally broadcasted reaches someone she has never expected.

As reported, the six members of newly-formed unit NOW ON AIR will make their professional voice

actress debut in the film and their debut single song "Kono Koe ga Todokimasuyouni" (I Wish This Voice

Can Reach You) will be featured as an image song.

 

The six members: Misako Iino (Gayu Hamasu), Mitsuho Kambe (Ayame Nakahara), Aki Tanaka (Kaede

Tatsunokuchi), Hitomi Suzuki (Otoha Biwanokouji), Momone Iwabuchi (Shizuku Dobashi), and Mina

Katahira (Nagisa Yukiai) were chosen from about 3,000 participants in the "Kimikoe Audition" held by

Tohoku Shinsha from March to August 2016. In addition, popular voice actress Suzuko Mimori (Umi

Sonoda in Love Live!) is confirmed to join as the voice of Shion Yazawa.

Hari Tokeino's "Gakuen Babysitters" Manga to Get Anime Adaptation

Hakusensha confirmed today on March 24 that an anime adaptation of Hari Tokeino's heartful comedy manga Gakuen Babysitters is in the works and released a teaser visual introducing the two Kashima brothers in anime edition. The manga has been serialized in the publisher's monthly shoujo manga magazine Lala since 2009 and its latest 14th tankobon is scheduled to be released on April 5. The news of the anime adaptation was also revealed on the cover of the magazine's latest May 2017 issue published today in Japan. 

 

The story centers on the two Kashima brothers, Ryuichi and Kotaro, whose parents were killed in a plane crash. They are taken in by Yoko Morinomiya, the chairperson of Morinomiya Academy who also lost her son and his wife in the same accident. She accepts the position as their guardian till Ryuchi becomes an adult. But in return, he has to work as a babysitter in all of his spare time.

 

In the drama CD released in 2011, Ryuichi and Kotaro were voiced by Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager in Attack

on Titan) and Megumi Takamoto (Winry Rockbell in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), respectively.
