The official Twitter of Ichijinsha's monthly boys love manga magazine gateau today confirmed that an anime adaptation of Memeco Arii's Hitorijime My Hero is in the works. How and when the anime will be distributed are not confirmed.
"Hitorijime" means to have something all to oneself. The manga has been serialized in the magazine since its June 2011 issue, and its four tankobon volumes have printed over 700,000 copies in total. Its latest fifth volume will be available on July 15, then its second drama CD will be released on August 24.
Hitorijime My Hero focuses on the relationship between the timid delinquent boy Masahiro Setagawa and the high school teacher Kosuke Ohshiba. It is a spin-off to one of the author's early BL work, Hitorijime Boyfriend, that published in 2010 and featured Kosuke's brother Kensuke.
