The official website of the TV anime project based on Yuki Midorikawa's fantasy comedy manga series Natsume Yujin-cho/Natsume's Book of Friends today confirmed that its next fifth season, titled Natsume Yujin-Cho Go, will premiere on TV Tokyo and other station this October. The first four season's director Takahiro Omori is newly appointed as the supervising director, while Kotomi Deai, who has worked on the second season of Silver Spoon (2014) and The Rolling Girls (2015), serves as the new director. All of the main voice cast are scheduled to reprise their roles.
Before the TV premiere, an advance screening event for the fifth season is set to be held at Differ Ariake in Tokyo twice on October 1. Hiroshi Kamiya (the voice of the protagonist Takashi Natsume), Kazuhiko Inoue (Madara/Nyanko-sensei), and Kazuma Horie (Kaname Tanuma) are scheduled to attend. Advance entry tickets for the event were included in the perfect limited production edition of the anime's Blu-ray box set 2 released on June 29.
