A recent poll on Akiba Souken's Anime Portal website asked Japanese fans to rank their favorite ocean, beach, or seaside themed anime that they'd like to watch during the blazing days of summer.
Fans were allowed to pick their 3 favorites from a list of 20 possibilities. (Sorry, folks, but Azumanga Daioh wasn't in the voting pool.) A total of 1546 votes were cast, and the Top 10 results were as follows:

09.) Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. (54 votes)
08.) KanColle. (74 votes)
07.) Squid Girl. (76 votes)
06.) AIR. (90 votes)

Other honorable mentions include Muromi-san at Number 17 with a measly 11 votes, heart-warming Studio Ghibli film Ponyo at Number 14 with 26 votes, and One Piece at Number 12 with 43 votes. Unfortunately, no demographic polling data has been provided, so we don't know how the popularity of different works may have been influenced by age or gender.
