Strange Citrus Returns in "Mikan Seijin Arawaru" TV Anime

Mikan Seijin, a bizarre extraterrestrial tangerine character created by Kazuma Shirasaki, is finding new life in the shape of a super short form TV anime entitled Mikan Seijin Arawaru ("Mikan Seijin Materializes") that will air as part of Fuji TV's #Hi_Poul variety show beginning on August 25, 2016.

Mikan Seijin began life in 1989, and from 1992 - 1994 the character appeared in a series of surreal CG animated shorts on Ugo Ugo Luga, a Japanese children's program. Mikan Seijin was also the subject of a popular "Screen Mate" screen-saver, which became known in English as "orange.exe". In 2005, Mikan Seijin also had segment on the Japanese children's program Gacha Gacha Pon! entitled "Mikan Seijin's 30 Second Tutorial".

Mikan Seijin Arawaru features writing and animation production by Kazuma Shirasaki and production by Fuji TV. Each episode will be 20 seconds in length, and will air repeatedly throughout the 90 minute run-time of #Hi_Poul, which broadcasts on Fuji TV every Thursday from 25:25 until 26:55 (actually Friday morning from 1:25 AM - 2:55 AM JST).
