Back in January Funimation announced a partnership with NGames Interactive Limited and GameSamba, with games based on Fairy Tail, Tokyo Ghoul, and Attack on Titan planned. Now Funimation has details on the Tokyo Ghoul game, which is officially titled Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War.
Currently lined up for a winter launch on iOS and Android devices, Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War is an action-RPG with three gameplay modes. First is a single-player story mode, which features an episodic journey and real-time combat with a party of characters.
Multiplayer modes include a traditional player-versus-player arena that will decide whose team is the strongest, as well as a MOBA-inspired competitive multiplayer mode. The latter will have players participating in 1v1, 3v3, or 5v5 team-based matches.
You can sign up for future announcements and beta opportunities on the official Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War site, and it will be playable at GameSaba's booth at PAX West, which takes place September 2-5 in Seattle.
