A belated happy birthday to noted voice actress Kikuko Inoue! Though born on September 25, 1964, Inoue successfully founded the "Juu-nana-sai Kyou" (17 years old cult), allowing her to remain "17 years old" as long as she wants. (Other members include Sakura Nogawa, Rina Sato, Yukari Tamura, and Yui Horie aka Miss Monochrome - who just had a birthday).
Inoue made her debut as a professional anime voice actress in 1988, as two school girls and a mother in the TV anime Haai! Akko-desu. She gained prominence in 90s roles including Ranma ½ as Kasumi Tendo and Ah! My Goddess as Belldandy. She's all over Metal Gear as Boss, Sunny, Rosemary, and Chico. Lately, she's been playing mothers in just about everything and weird roles such as Baita in Bakuon!!
Look for her next season as Calamity Mary in Magical Girl Raising Project.
Beyond the fact that it was her 35th 17th birthday, this year was also special, because it was the first time Kikuko was younger than her now 18-year-old aspiring singer/voice actress daughter Honoka.
