"Chi's Sweet Home" Returns to TV as a 3DCG Anime in October

The adorable kitten protagonist of Chi's Sweet Home is returning to Japanese TV in a newly 3DCG animated form with a new series entitled Koneko no Chi - Ponponra Daibouken ("Chi the Kitten - Tummy-patting Big Adventure").

Based on the Chi's Sweet Home manga by Kanata Konami that was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Morning seinen manga magazine, the new series follows the daily misadventures of an adorable kitten who becomes separated from her mother and is adopted by the Yamada family.

Koneko no Chi - Ponponra Daibouken is directed by Kiminori Kusano and features series composition by Misuzu Chiba. Kaori Kitamoto serves as the series supervisor, and the animation is produced by MARZA ANIMATION PLANET. Satomi Kōrogi, who voiced Chi in the 2008 TV anime and its 2009 sequel, reprises her role as the voice of Chi.

The rest of the cast members include:

  • Ryoko Shiraishi as Yohei Yamada.
  • Makoto Yasumura as Kento Yamada, aka Father.
  • Maaya Sakamoto as Miwa Yamada, aka Mother.
  • Rikiya Koyama as Kuroino.
  • Motoko Kumai as Kocchi.

Noriko Hidaka, who played Yohei's mother in the previous anime adaptations, will play Chi's mother in Koneko no Chi - Ponponra Daibouken.

Koneko no Chi - Ponponra Daibouken will broadcast on TV Tokyo and 6 affiliate stations every Sunday at 7:00 AM JST beginning on October 02, 2016.
