A trailer is now available online for Idol Memories, an upcoming original TV anime that imagines a near-future where idol groups compete in virtual reality spaces to be crowned the rulers of the "Idol League".
The trailer highlights "Mainichi ga Good Day!" and "Sorakanata" by Project Frontier, the opening and ending themes for the show.
Idol Memories envisions a near-future setting where ubiquitous VR technology has revolutionized travel and entertainment. Idol concerts now take place mostly in virtual reality. In Idol Memories, the members of idol groups StarRing and Shadow both attend the same once-prestigious school for idol singers, and both groups are aiming for the top spot in the "Idol League".
Idol Memories is directed by Katsuya Kikuchi and features animation by Seven Arcs Pictures. The series will broadcast on Tokyo MX and AT-X beginning on October 02, 2016.
