As the last program of the TV anime and feature films' 20th anniversary project, the first episode of the TV anime adaptation of Gosho Aoyama's Meitantei Conan/Detective Conan manga, "Jet Coaster Satsujin Jiken/Roller Coaster Murder Case," will be remade as a two-hour TV special titled "Meitantei Conan Episode 'ONE' Chiisakunatta Meitantei/Detective Conan Episode One: The Great Detective who Shrank" this winter. The original manga author Aoyama joins the production as a supervisor.
The main characters of the series: Sherry before becoming Ai Haibara, the members of the Junior Detective League, Professor Agasa, and Kogoro Mouri before they meet Conan, are confirmed to appear in the two-hour version. And the reason why Shinichi and Ran decided to go on a date at the Tropical Land will be also explained.
The TV special is directed by Yasuichiro Yamamoto, who has been attached to the series since 1996
when it was launched. He also draws the storyboard for the episode, and co-writes the script with
Hiroshi Kashiwabara (Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, Detective Conan Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure).
As with the main TV series, Yuji Ohno's soundtrack music will be featured.
