Back in 2012, The Cyzo Women's Blog (Cyzo Daily News who nailed the Fullmetal Alchemist plans) reported that Jun Matsumoto was in line to lead a live-action adaptation of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Stardust Crusaders. Then in May, they were saying that rumors are that the project wasback, planned for 2018 with Kento Yamazaki (Orange, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, the new Death Note TV drama) as the new candidate for Jotaro Kujo. Now, there's a reason to believe that it might be happening.
This was denied by publisher Shueisha, but, now there's call to reconsider...
At the end of August, Warner Bros. JP register the domain ‘jojo-movie.jp’, which redirects to ‘http://ift.tt/2d72zge‘ and indicates an announcement could be coming soon.
@jojomovie_jp on Twitter was September 23, 2016.
Cyzo's source said that various troubles brought the previous attempts to a stand still, but, this time, concrete plans for a production are being developed, and barring obstacles from top executives, the adaptation looks likely to happen.
The sources also explained that because Jojo's Part III lacks female characters and is heavily comprised of battles, they were making to sure to cast attractive male leads who will appeal, and keeping an eye on the fan reaction.
