Horror manga author and H.P. Lovecraft aficianado Gou Tanabe has begun serialization of a new manga adaptation based on Lovecraft's most ambitious novella, At the Mountains of Madness. The series begins serialization in Enterbrain's Comic Beam seinen manga magazine beginning with the October issue published on September 12, 2016.
Originally published in 1936, At the Mountains of Madness concerns a doomed Antarctic expedition that discovers more than they bargained for when they encounter strange and extraterrestrial creatures, in the process learning the terrible truth about the history of the Earth and humanity's place within it.
Gou Tanabe has previously adapted other Lovecraft works, such as "The Hound", "The Colour Out of Space", and "The Nameless City".
