"Kakuchou Shoujo Trinary" Anime / Smart Phone Game Pushes AR Boundaries

A ton of new information - including character profiles, key art, and a teaser trailer - have been revealed for Kakuchou Shoujo Trinary ("Augmented Reality Girls Trinary"), a cross-media project that includes an anime and a smart phone game with a meta-textual twist: the heroines power up by "linking" across dimensions with the viewers.

The story of Kakuchou Shoujo Trinary takes place in the world "on the other side of the screen", in which the capital city of Tokyo is beset by frequent calamities known as "Phenomenon". To combat these events, a special team of superpowered heroines known as "Trinary" is formed. By linking with the "Clan" (i.e. people who play the smart phone game and watch the anime), the Trinary team can power up for battle.

The main cast of Kakuchou Shoujo Trinary includes:

Mariko Takeda as Tsubame Ōse, a 15 year old rookie member of Trinary. Tsubame is a very sweet-natured and positive person, and she makes friends easily. She joined Trinary after an accidental encounter with a Phenomenon revealed her special talent, and she is good friends with Kagura, another rookie member who joined at the same time as Tsubame. Tsubame is a big fan of popular musical artist "FreyMENOW", whose songs inspire her.

Mitsuki Nakae as Ayami Kunimasa, the 21 year old leader of Trinary. Ayami masks her inherent shyness with a veneer of politeness and propriety that sometimes makes her seem strict or severe. During battle, Ayami calmly assesses the situation and dispenses orders and advice to the other members. Her nickname is "Aya".

Yuki Yagi as Gabriella Lotarinska, the youngest member of Trinary at 14 years old. Gabriella is affectionately nicknamed "Gab" and "Gabby" by Ayami. Gabriela was born in Poland to a wealthy family, and so she is very prideful. Gabriella affects a cute and girlish personality until you get on her bad side, and she has a burning rivalry with Tsubame. In combat, she is primarily responsible for medium-range support.

Ami Hagihara as Miyabi Koigasaki, a 17 year old member of Trinary who specializes in intelligence, analysis, and information processing. Miyabi always has a sleepy expression and an elusive personality. She is easily bothered by other people, but has a fascination for bizarre and abnormal things. Born in Kōchi Prefecture, Miyabi speaks in Tosa dialect.

Emi Hirayama as Kagura Uzuki, a 15 year old member of Trinary who is friends with Tsubame. Despite her bubbly personality, Emi is extremely powerful in battle and is group's #1 combat ace. Emi loves cooking, frilly clothing, and cute things, but she is also a big fan of light novels and anime and she often makes trips to Akihabara as a result.
