The third Monday in September is Respect for the Aged Day in Japan, and part of the country's "Happy Monday System" of three day weekends. So, the next issue of Shonen Jump's Japnese edition will be released this Saturday. The issue is set to feature a cover celebrating the conclusion of long running KochiKame. An early look has revealed that it also features a teaser for a major announcement concerning Hideaki Sorachi's alt-history manga Gintama, promised to be more surprising than the live-action movie.
In honor of this, September 26th's issue 43 will feature a Gintama cover and color page.
In July, Gintama chapter 595 declared that the story was entering into its final arc. In December, anime cast member Rie Kugimiya read a message from author Hideaki Sorachi about wrapping up the manga, and the subject was brought up again when the anime wrapped up its latest run in March.
And, in volume 65, released August 4th...
