According to the newest Oricon sales report, the eighth volume of Sui Ishida's dark fantasy manga series Tokyo Ghoul:re, released in Japan on September 16, sold 319,808 copies in its first week, becoming the top-selling manga of the week. But its first-week sale number is 22,766 copies down from the previous seventh volume that was released in June of this year and sold 342,574 copies in its initial week of release.
Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul series including its 14-volume original series, that cerebrated its 5th anniversary on September 8, has reportedly printed 18 million copies in Japan.

The second top-selling title was the special edition of the final 200th volume of Osamu Akimoto's
long-running comedy manga series Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouen Mae Hashutsujo, KochiKame
for short, that sold 207,024 copies and was already confirmed to receive additional printing only after
four days of release. The third was the sixth volume of Kore Yamazaki's Mahoutsukai no Yome/The
Ancient Magus' Bride with 127,730 copies.
