The special edition release of the 9th manga volume of Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari, a heart-warming manga by Nodoka Shinomaru that is being adapted into a TV anime that begins broadcasting in October of 2016, will come packaged with an original audio drama CD as a bonus.
Currently, there are 7 volumes of the series available in print in Japan. Volume 8 of the Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari will be published in Japan on October 08, 2016, while Volume 9 will be published on January 17, 2017. Volume 8 retails for 626 yen ($6.24 US) including tax, while the limited edition of Volume 9 with the drama CD retails for 1836 yen ($18.36 US).
The story of Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari ("The Golden Furball of Udon Country") follows Souta Tawara, a young man who returns to his family home in rural Kagawa Prefecture after his father passes away. There Souta discovers a strange child named Poko sleeping in one of his family's udon pots. Souta ends up looking after Poko, but Poko turns out to be more than just a typical human child.
The original Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari manga is serialized in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @ Bunch seinen manga magazine. The Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari TV anime is directed by Yoshihide Ibata and features animation by Liden Films. Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari will broadcast on Nippon TV and Nishinippon Broadcasting beginning on October 09, 2016.
