In January 2017, Wataru Watanabe's Yowamushi Pedal sports manga returns for a third TV anime, subtitled "New Generation." After the second anime's Inter-high Arc, corresponding with volume 27, the new anime will see what happens with the Sohoku High School cycling team after the third-year student's veteran members graduate. So, Onoda, Imaizumi and Naruko are sophomores in the latest character designs previews, while Teshima and Teshima are senors.
Osamu Nabeshima is back directing the TMS production with Kurasumi Sunayama stepping up to write series composition and Yukiko Ban (DRAMAtical Murder Yowapeda's anime movie) on character design.
