At the end of August, Tokyo Extra Notes website posted details on how extras could join the shooting for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Tite Kubo's Bleach. This indicated that the film will be shooting in the suburbs of the Kanto region (including Tokyo, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, and Kanagawa) from mid-September to mid-November of this year. Well, apparently some shots from this, catching 23-year-old Souta Fukushi (Gentaro Kisaragi in Kamen Rider Fourze) as Ichigo Kurosaki, have made it online.
As it circled the Japanese blogs, opinions were divided. While many compared it to a school play and were dismissive of the prop sword, others said that they found Fukushi to be a very credible Ichigo.
The live-action film adaptation is directed by Shinsuke Sato (GANTZ, I Am a Hero) and will be distributed by Warner Brothers Japan in 2018.
Speaking of live-action Jump adaptations, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. movie wasn't ready to announce anyone beyond lead Kento Yamazaki, but author Shūichi Asō posted Hirofumi Arai in Riki Nendō make-up...
