It has been confirmed that "Ghost in the Shell Exclusive Event" to promote the upcoming release of the live-action film adaptation of the popular Japanese sci-fi action franchise originally created by Masamune Shirow will be held in Tokyo on November 13. The star of the film, Scarlett Johansson, who is cast as the protagonist "The Major," is scheduled to join, alongside director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Japanese comedian/actor/director Beat Takeshi who plays Daisuke Aramaki.
This is the first business visit to Japan for the 31-year-old actress in 14 years since 2002 when she joined the filming of Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation. With the three, the event will introduce never-seen-before footage from the film to the 200 audience who will be chosen by lottery. To join the event, you need to entry by this web form. Winners will be informed by e-mail by November 4.
The Paramount Pictures-distributed film is set for release in the U.S. on March 31, 2017. No release date
for Japanese theaters has been announced yet.
