An early look at the latest issue of Famitsu has the scoop on the previously promised new Senran Kagura project, and it's definitely in line with what the series is all about. Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is a PlayStation 4 shooting game that has the girls of Senran Kagura competing in an ancient… shinobi… water gun tournament. You can probably imagine where it goes from there.
Regardless of whether the shinobi in question are on the side of good or evil, two teams of five will compete against one another in the tournament, which includes water guns that range from dual pistols to sniper rifles and beyond. Over 30 characters will be getting in on the action of the story mode, which fits in with the series' overall story, as well as online multiplayer.
So yeah, costumes can get wet or destroyed to a certain extent, downloadable content is planned, and PlayStation VR will be compatible with some of the modes. A "Super Limited Nyuu Nyuu 5th Anniversary DX Pack" is also on the way, bringing with it a copy of the game, bonus product card, life-size Nyuu Nyuu mousepad, art book, soundtrack, a Blu-ray full of previous opening animations, and a Nana Yaegashi custom-illustrated box.
Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash hits PS4 in Japan on March 16, 2017. Producer Kenichiro Takaki says there will also be a new Senran Kagura action game in the future.
