Tatsuya Fujiwara is a Smooth Criminal in "Confession of Murder"

Actor Tatsuya Fujiwara (Battle Royale, the live-action Death Note films) will be playing the lead role in Confession of Murder, an upcoming Japanese remake of the 2012 South Korean thriller of the same name.

In the film, a series of grisly serial murders in 1995 goes unsolved for 22 years despite the best efforts of detective Ko Makimura (played by Hideaki Ito). Suddenly, a handsome and charismatic man named Masato Sonezaki (played by Tatsuya Fujiwara) publishes a memoir claiming credit for the killings, but this very public confession is only the beginning of a new mystery.

The original Confession of Murder film was directed by Jung Byung-gil. The remake is directed by Yu Irie (the live-action Joker Game film). Confession of Murder hits Japanese theaters on June 10, 2017.
