KA Esuma Bunko, the light novel label associated with Kyoto Animation (this season's Sound! Euphonium, next season's Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) has scheduled a November 25th release date for Manzai Sen ka! - written by Aji Miyaku and illustrated by namo. The work was received honorable mention in 2013's 4th Kyoto Animation Awards along with Soichirō Hatano's basis for the Myriad Colors Phantom World anime and Koji Dogu's Yatara Uro Uro Mettara Doki Doki.
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Free! and Beyond the Boundary were also based on books honored by the award.

In spring 2016, Kyoto Animation production an anime promo for Violet Evergarden. The book, written by Kana Akatsuki, won the grand prize winner of the 5th Kyoto Animation Award.
