Add ReLIFE to the list of manga like Orange and Erased that got anime, then live-action movies in quick succession. Scheduled for April 2017, its leads and director were announced in October. This month, it has started filling in more of the cast with news that "Flashy" class representative Kazuomi Ōga will be played by Mahiro Takasugi (Kamen Rider Gaim, the lead in the live-action adaptation of Mari Ozawa's Gin no Spoon manga).

The manga featuring the 27-year-old protagonist Arata Kaizaki who experiences his second high school life by the ReLife Project has been published on NHN's "comico" website since October 2013 and currently six tankobon volumes have been released in Japan. It has reportedly been downloaded over 20 million times worldwide, and its English edition is now available on Crunchyroll. Its 13-episode TV anime adaptation was aired from July to September of this year, and a stage play adaptation starring Kensho Ono was performed in Tokyo and Osaka this September.
43 year-old Takeshi Furusawa, well known for his live-action film adaptation works based on popular shoujo manga series, Kyo, Koi o Hajimemasu (Kanan Minami/2012) and Clover (Toriko Chiya/2014), is attached to direct on a screenplay by Kumiko Asou (Wakakozake). 18-year-old Taishi Nakagawa (Kiyoshi in Prison School) portrays the protagonist Arata Kaizaki at age of both 17 and 27. 17-year-old Yuuna Taira (Akane Sawa in Aozora Yell) is cast as the main heroine Chizuru Hishiro.
The shooting is scheduled to begin in the beginning of November and to wrap up by the middle of December.
The film will be distributed by Shochiku in Japan.
