The official website for the upcoming Jump Festa 2017 event today confirmed that 29-year-old Kohei Horikoshi, the original manga author of the Boku no Hero Academia/My Hero Academia shonen action manga series, will join a stage event for the franchise, alongside two voice actors from the anime adaptation, Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya) and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katauki Bakugo).
The two-day event featuring the characters from Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, Shonen Jump+, V Jump, Jump Square, and Saikyo Jump, will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture on December 17 and 18, 2016. The "Super Stage" for My Hero Academia is scheduled from 13:10 to 14:10 on the second day.
It will be Horikoshi's first public appearance in a stage event. When he appeared on a TV interview for the first time in January 2016, he wore a gas mask and refused to show his face through the whole interview
for some reason. But he is expected to appear on the stage without the mask. He posted his comment
for the event, "I have thought this is a kind of job I don't need to appear before public. But I have decided
(to join) because I received advice from great people that I should. I will try not to bother the voice actors."
