Despite Nintendo's recent denial that Wii U production is coming to an end, the company's official Japanese site has confirmed the plans. As of right now the 32GB is the only Wii U console being made in Japan, and according to their descriptions production will end "soon."
A Nintendo spokesperson responded to previous reports, saying, "Even though the Nintendo Switch is slated to go on sale, [Wii U] production is scheduled to continue." While that may hold true at the moment for other regions, the end is nigh for the slow-selling system in Japan.
