TV Tokyo is bumping the 7th episode of the most recent season of Natsume Yujin-cho from its regularly scheduled broadcast spot on November 15, 2016, replacing it instead with the 2013 OAD special episode entitled "Nyanko-Sensei and the First Errand", leading some Japanese fans to speculate that the newest TV series has hit a snag in the production process.
TV Osaka and TV Setouchi are also listing "Nyanko-Sensei and the First Errand" in place of the 7th episode of Natsume Yujin-cho Season 5 on their November 15 broadcast schedules. Whether the other channels broadcasting the series will do likewise is currently unknown.
The previous seasons of Natsume Yujin-cho are directed by Takahiro Omori and feature animation by Brain's Base. The most recent season is also directed by Omori, but features animation by Shuka. It is currently being broadcast in Japan on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, Television Hokkaido, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and AT-X. Natsume Yujin-cho is also being simulcast on Crunchyroll.
