Funimation Presents "Drifters" Anime's Opening Five Minutes With English Subtitles

Announced at the annual Industry Panel at Anime Expo 2016, Funimation revealed that they have acquired exclusive international rights to home entertainment, video on demand and broadcast distribution for Drifters, the new anime based on the manga by Hellsing creator Kouta Hirano. Before the fall premiere of the TV anime a special edition of the manga's fifth volume, out on June 6, presented with a 36-minute version of the first two episodes, and Funimation has shared an English subtitled version of the five-minute preview.

Based off the manga published by Dark Horse Comics that has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide in five different languages. Nominated for the 4th and 5th Manga Taisho Awards in Japan, an honor shared with huge hit series such as My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Assassination Classroom, and One Punch Man.

 

 

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure/Stardust Crusaders series director Kenichi Suzuki helms the production with Hideyuki Kurata (Grisaia, Maria the Virgin Witch, Nanana, The World Only God Knows) and Yousuke Yuroda (High School of the Dead, Gundam 00) writing series composition.
