You may have heard that Pokémon Go has been preeeeeetty successful for Nintendo in the week since it launched. The company's stock skyrocketed, the app is raking in dough, and, despite the occasional dead body discoveries and muggings, people have been having a good time out and about catching Pokémon in public. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Hollywood's interest in cashing in has risen even faster than Nintendo's stock.
According to a report on Deadline, word has it that Legendary Pictures' desires to make a deal for the rights to a live-action Pokémon film have been stoked since the launch of Pokémon Go. No deal has officially been made and there isn't much information beyond rumors, but either way the iron is definitely at its hottest for Hollywood. Now we'll just have to see who strikes first.
