Japanese rock trio WEAVER will perform the as-yet-untitled opening theme for Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari, an upcoming TV anime based on the manga by Nodoka Shinomaru. The title for the theme song will be announced at a later date. WEAVER has previously performed "Kuchiduke Diamond", the opening theme for Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches.
The story of Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari follows Souta Tawara, who returns to his family home in rural Kagawa Prefecture after his father passes away. There Souta discovers a strange child named Poko sleeping in one of his family's udon pots. Souta ends up looking after Poko, but Poko turns out to be more than just a typical human child.
The original Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari manga is serialized in Shinchosa's Monthly Comic @ Bunch seinen manga magazine. The TV anime adaptation is directed by Yoshihide Ibata and features animation from Liden Films. Udon no Kuni no Kin-iro Kemari will air on Nippon TV and Nishinippon Broadcasting beginning in October of 2016.
