"Kokuhaku (Confession)," the third part of the six-part anime film project Digimon Adventure Tri., was released at 11 theaters across Japan on September 24. As with the first two, it was originally scheduled to screen for a limited time of three weeks and to end its theatrical run on October 14. But due to the box office success, it is confirmed to screen at the same theaters at least one more week from October 15. The fourth week moviegoers will receive an illustrated postcard autographed by the anime's character designer Atsuya Uki.
The third part's first weekend gross was a little disappointing 44 million yen, which was slightly down from the second part's 46 million yen. But thanks to the overwhelming word of mouth support from fans, its total box office gross in the first 13 days reached over 100 million yen. So now it is expected to surpass the second part's total gross of 160 million yen by the end of its run.
The fourth part "Soushitsu (Loss)" is set for theatrical release in Japan on February 25, 2017.
