54-year-old internationally famous modern artist Takashi Murakami confirmed on his official Facebook yesterday that his magical girl themed anime 6HP Six Hearts Princess is finally set to be aired on Tokyo MX in the end of this year. But what he can say at this point is that it is need to be aired due to "various reason," though it will be impossible to finish production completely by then. It means Tokyo MX will have to air its "unfinished version." The TV anime project was officially revealed back in January 2015.
Murakami has been working on the project for over six years. It originally started its production as a 3DCG anime, but after making several pilot footage, he decided to make it as a hand-drawn 2D anime and open another production studio for it in Nakano, Tokyo. Currently about 50 staff members are working on the project in Hokkaido and Tokyo, and more people need to be recruited to complete it.
