When idol anime and politics collide, you get Idol Jihen, an upcoming show in which 47 idol singers representing the parties of the Japanese Diet work to bring joy and smiles to the people of Japan. The series premieres in January, and (as befits an idol show) there are already plans for singles to come.
In particular, release dates and track lists for the OP/ED have been released, as well as singers.
We've also found out that within the show will be a group called SMILE ♥ X (Smile Kiss), an idol unit comprised of members from each of the different parties. The group consists of Natsuki Hoshina (CV: Sarara Yashima), Shizuka Onimaru (CV: Mai Fuchigami), Sachie Kondo (CV: Reina Ueda), Mizuki Fudo (CV: Lynn), Sakurako Iizuka (CV: Yurika Kubo), Ume Momoi ( CV: Sayaka Nakaya), Kuruha Amou (CV: Yuuri Yoshida), Mika Kozuru (CV: Chinatsu Akasaki), and Ringo-sama†Yami (CV: Nozomi Yamamoto).
