This week, My Neighbor Totoro was broadcast for the 15th time on the NTV Friday Roadshow as part of a fall run of Studio Ghibli movies, along with Porco Rosso and The Cat Returns (at 14.2% the ratings were good, but not stellar). It was Halloween week. Japanese Twitter doesn't really seem to have an October 31st hard cut-off for Halloweeen fun. And, the results were quite freaky.

There's also the persistent urbam legend that Satsuki and Mei are supposedly dead. Eight years ago, for Totoro's 20th anniversary, otaku idol Shoko "Shokotan" Nakagawa and Gainax cofounder/author/lecturer Toshio "Otaking" Okada discussed the possibility.
