Josuke's family name 東方 ("Higashikata"), can also be read as "Touhou." A popular element of the phenominon is IOSYS Cirno's Perfect Math Class, music video story of a dim ice fairy's education. In 2017, this turns 9 years old (part of the gag, ⑨. バカ, lit. "9. Idiot") and IOSYS is preparing to celebrate.

Plans include live-performances, a remix contest, goods and more. Other than listing that a t-shirt, keychain will go on sale January 14th, specifics haven't been shared yet.
