It is officially announced today that a new original TV anime Tsuki ga Kirei directed by Seiji Kishi (Assassination Classroom, Danganronpa 3) is now in the works for an April 2017 premiere. The title is literally translated as "The moon is beautiful," but the phrase is more known for its translation by Japanese novelist in the Meiji-era, Souseki Natsume's "I love you."
The "pure love story" between two third grade junior high school students, Akane Misuzo and Kotaro Azumi, is animated by feel. (This Art Club Has a Problem!, Please Tell Me! Galko-chan), while FlyingDog (Macross Delta, Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-) works on music production. Yuko Kakihara (orange, Aikatsu Stars!) serves as the series composition writer/script writer, and illustrator loundraw, known for her cover art works for Yoru Sumino's Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai novel, provides original character designs.
