The official Youtube channel for Idol Memories, an upcoming original TV anime in which idol units compete by performing live concerts in virtual reality spaces, has released a pair of preview videos that highlight StarRing and Shadow, the two rival units competing for the same top spot in the "Idol League".
Idol Memories envisions a near-future setting where ubiquitous VR technology has revolutionized travel and entertainment. Idol concerts now take place mostly in virtual reality, and although the members of StarRing and Shadow attend the same school for idol singers, they are rivals online.
Idol Memories is directed by Katsuya Kikuchi and features animation by Seven Arcs Pictures. The series will broadcast on Tokyo MX every Sunday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on October 02, 2016. (Note: the 24:30 time slot on Sunday is actually at 12:30 AM on Monday morning.)
