Translation:

Mobile Police Patlabor is beginning a new project.
How many years will it take...(laughs)."
Although there are no further details regarding the nature of the project (such as the cast, the staff, the format, and the release date), Maki's Facebook post also includes a link to Mobile Police Patlabor - Reboot, a short animated film for Animator Expo that updates the Patlabor series for a new generation of viewers. Many fans have speculated that the short film is testing the waters for a larger project.
Personally, I'm excited and hopeful. There's always room for more Patlabor in my life.
