The main cast has been announced for Scum's Wish (known in Japan as Kuzu no Honkai), an upcoming TV anime based on a seinen manga Mengo Yokoyari about a high school couple whose seemingly perfect relationship conceals a secret.
The cast for Scum's Wish includes:
Chika Anzai as Hanabi Yasuraoka. Hanabi is a 17 year old 2nd year high school student. She is an honors student who attends advanced classes and has an excellent academic record. Hanabi is family-oriented and enjoys cooking. On the surface, she appears to have a straightforward and honest personality.
Nobunaga Shimazaki as Mugi Awaya. Mugi attends the same school as Hanabi and is also her classmate. He's known for his smooth complexion and silky hair. Mugi doesn't really know Hanabi very well, but they pretend to be better acquainted for reasons only they know.
Haruka Tomatsu as Sanae Ebato. Sanae is one of Hanabi's friends. They were in the same class in their 1st year of high school, but have since been separated. However, Sanae and Hanabi still get along well and eat lunch together every day.
Shiori Izawa as Noriko Kamomebata, aka Moka. Noriko is a childhood friend of Mugi, whom she refers to as "Ōjisama" ("Prince") whenever she visits. Noriko hates being called by here real name, and she prefers to be addressed as "Moka", a name she assumed from the Japanese characters for "motomo kawaii", ("the most cute").
Kenji Nojima as Narumi Kanai. Narumi is a Japanese language teacher and also Hanabi's home room teacher. Since Hanabi has known him from a young age, she refers to Narumi as "Oni-chan" ("older brother").
And Aki Toyosaki as Akane Minagawa. Akane is the music teacher at the school that Hanabi and Mugi attend. Akane is always well-dressed and is very popular with the students. Akane was Mugi's private tutor when he was in middle school, so she refers to him as "Mugi-chan".
The original Scum's Wish manga is serialized in Square Enix's Big Gangan seinen manga magazine, and is also available via simulpub digital distribution on Crunchyroll. An English language version is also published in print by Yen Press, who describe the series as follows:
